Right before the presidential elections in Mexico, planned for July of 2012, a local software enterprise has developed a smart-phone game that shows how to commit fraud at the elections. The game, called Guerras Electorales (Electoral Wars)and created by a team of developers from Innox, offers its users 33 different ways of cheating to control the political campaign of a presidential candidate and to contribute for this candidate to either win or lose a fictional election. The release of this game has provoked opposing reactions.On one hand, some programmers have confirmed that it promotes a lack of respect towards the law, whereas on the other hand, Roberto Ibarra, director of Innox, assures, in declarations to BBC Mundo, that the objective of the game is simply to demonstrate some illegal practices that have been denounced in previous elections.
