Occupy Dusseldorf was inspired by an editorial cartoon
from Brooklyn, New York based artist Mark Hurwitt to
create an imaginative street theatre performance art
protest action. They marched with hundreds of medieval
shields created out of enlargements of Hurwitt's art
translated into many languages forming a giant turtle
they call "Operation Schildkrote". Their very peaceful
political action ends by turning over the shields to
reveal the message on the other side:"We are all
Greece!".
