Over hundreds of Korean Air staff members protested on the streets in the center of Seoul demanding the chairman of the Hanjin group, Cho Yang Ho to resign. The Hanjin group is a South Korea chaebol. The group owns various industries that range from transportation and airlines to hotels, tourism, and airport business. They are one of the richest families in South Korea. The reason for these protests were due to the behavior of both of his daughters who held senior posts within the company. Cho Hyun Ah, Cho Yang Ho's daughter had lost her temper over the way in which she was served nuts in first class on a Korean Air plane and demanded the pilot to return back to the gate in JFK airport. Although she was jailed on a charge of obstruction aviation safety she returned back to her post as an executive of Korean Air's hotel affiliate a couple months later. The other daughter Cho Hyun Min also was accused of throwing a drink over an advertising executive during a business meeting. In response to the backlash from both the public and the employees of the Hanjin group, Cho Yang Ho made his daughters both step down from their positions in the company and also issued a public apology for their behavior.
