Jul 24 2014

SIMA exists to advance global awareness, social justice, human rights and humanitarian development by catalyzing creative works of visual storytelling that inspire activism, compassion and social transformation.

Through our annual international documentary and educational impact media competition, we award eye-opening impact cinema from across the globe that exemplifies excellence in its potential to inspire change.

Our catalogue comprises 36 award-winners and nominees chosen from over 700 film submissions from 120 countries around the world and represents a confluence of genres and themes critical to audience awareness in the 21st century. We offer ORGANIZATIONS and CULTURAL FORUMS like your own screening opportunities of the best documentaries from our annual competitions, providing you the opportunity to activate, educate and inspire your members, audiences and constituents through the power of film. SIMA films spotlight issues of international human rights, environmental justice, indigenous wisdom, women's rights, poverty, refugee conflict and resolution, stigma, youth activism, healthcare and stories of hope, resilience, and survival seen through the lens of diverse filmmakers from around the globe.
