A small group of gay rights activists gathered outside the Russian Embassy in Beijing on Valentine’s Day to protest Russia’s antigay laws. Behind a rainbow banner that read “To Russia with Love,” a dozen activists cheered as three couples puckered up and kissed in front of a countdown clock for the Sochi Winter Olympics outside the embassy’s tall walls.

Installation began on Museo Atlantico — the latest project of underwater sculptor James deCaires Taylor — this week, 14 meters underwater in Lanzarote, one of the Spain’s Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa. Taylor, whose creations have spanned the waters from the Bahamas to London, calls it the first underwater contemporary art museum in Europe and the Atlantic Ocean.

As Abbie Hoffman said at the Chicago Seven trial: "I read in the paper the day before that they had 2,000 troops surrounding the reservoirs in order to protect against the Yippie plot to dump LSD in the drinking water.

"On 17 December 1976, 18-year-old Eduardo Raúl Germano was abducted in Rosario, Argentina. Following the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the 1976 coup d’état, Gustavo Germano, Eduardo’s brother, began working on the photography exhibition "Ausencias" (Absences). Born in 1964 in the Argentinean Province of Entre Río, Gustavo Germano started taking photographs of the journeys he made across Latin America in 1987.
