On Nov 24, 2013, more than 10 Chinese feminist activists sang the feminist song "Do You Hear Women Sing" in the cabin of Beijing Metro Line 13 (adapted from the famous song "Do You Hear the People Sing" in the musical "Les Miserables". Beijing has the most stringent control on society. The activists used the subway as a public space for rights advocacy to develop the "pop-up" program to promote the "Eliminate Violence against Women Day" on November 25. In addition to eight singing girls, there are also two girls who were distributing lyrics and promotional materials to passengers, such as "Feminism ABC", "Rape Myth" and postcards against sexual harassment and gender violence.

Notes

This project had an effect on a small scale as the activists were only singing in one cabin of a subway line. However, the news about it could encourage people to know that there were many people who are support gender right and work on it. It will cheer those people caring about gender issues to do something stand by the group.
