DAMN. Kendrick Lamar opened the 2018 GRAMMYs with a powerful and political performance of his hit, "XXX.'" The rapper featured an army of face-covered soldiers marching in the background of an American flag, that quickly turned into a "satire" taking a jab at the current political climate in the United States.

Bono joined the rapper for their duet of "XXX" and in the middle of Kendrick's rap, the camera quickly turned off to the side of the stage where Dave Chappelle delivered a powerful statement, telling viewers, "I just wanted to remind the audience that the only thing more frightening than watching a black man be honest in America is being an honest black man in America."

Lamar is no stranger to using his voice and songs to address the current political climate in the United States. "XXX" references the gun violence and police brutality against the black community in America.

The powerful performance ended with the soldiers each falling to the ground one by one as sounds of gunshots were heard.
