Edward Snowden Hologram

NEW YORK — Hours after police removed an illicit bust of Edward Snowden from its perch in a Brooklyn park on Monday, artists replaced it with a hologram. The group of artists — who collectively call themselves "The Illuminator" and are not related to the trio behind the original sculpture — used laptops and projection equipment to cast an image of Snowden in a haze of smoke at the spot where the sculpture once stood.

Enterprising Brooklyn men CHARGING people to see the new NYC Banksy street art by hiding it behind cardboard. Some men in the tough Brooklyn neighborhood of East New York decided to charge admission when a Banksy piece showed up on their block. It was the October 10 addition to the British artist's month-long street art residency he's dubbed Better Out Than In.

The Balloon Project, is a three-year-in-the-making Art Installation by Yan Kong in support of world refugees and migrants. It pays tribute to human spirit, courage and survival. The Balloon Project is a multimedia work incorporating mechanical engineering and visuals to fuse art and politics. 32 balloons inflate and deflate to simulate refugee and migrants' breathing while fleeing their countries to seek safety and freedom in the world.

Edward Snowden bust

While most people slept, a trio of artists and some helpers installed a bust of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in Brooklyn on Monday April 6. They fused it to part of the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument, a memorial to Revolutionary War soldiers. By later that day, officials had removed the bust. But then a group called The Illuminator art collective replaced the missing bust with a hologram projection of Snowden.
