A Nasa scientist who went viral over his tearful protest on the climate crisis has told The Independent that his activism comes from a sense of desperation to “find something that actually has an impact and moves the needle”.
Peter Kalmus was among a group of scientists arrested last week after they chained themselves to a JPMorgan Chase building in Los Angeles in protest of the bank’s financing of fossil fuels.
“It could have been me,” Jean-Michel Basquiat would say at the mere mention of the untimely death of Michael Stewart. Stewart, a 25-year-old artist, was allegedly drawing on the walls of the subway on 15 September 1983 when he was approached by transit cops who then placed him under arrest.

This is continued exploration of some work I recently had published for a culture jam project in response to the documentary "The Corporation". There are a lot of layers working here. There are thoughts about food deserts, how multinational corporations prey upon them, and finally how particular images regarding development are used to sell the idea of what hunger should look like.

Large barricades erected by the police and topped with barbed wire stand a few hundred meters from the camp, preventing the farmers from encroaching any closer to the center of Delhi. At times, violence has broken out during demonstrations.

COMPANY OVERVIEW
... is this for protest? Perhaps. As is described online, it mentions that there was an attempt taken to challenge power relations, specifically between men and women; however, what I find most fascinating about this 'action' is that it 'demonstrates' the discrepancy between the female body as depicted in the painting, The Origin of the World, and the physically present form of Deborah's own body, i.e. genitalia.
