On July 23rd 2011 a newly formed organization Multi-Story performed Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring in a multi-story car park in Peckham Rye London. In doing so it completely subverted the entrenched traditions of the performance of classical music. The organization used student musicians and did not charge admission.

The Wuming Painting Collective, formed in Beijing during the Cultural Revolution (1966–1976), was a clandestine group of artists who defied the authoritarian control over art and expression. In a time when all art was harnessed as propaganda to glorify the state and Chairman Mao, Wuming artists turned their gaze toward everyday life, painting still lifes, street scenes, human figures, and most iconically, serene landscapes.

In Cape Town, South Africa the design firms Design Indaba Trust and Thinking have teamed up with artist Faith47 to help raise funds to bring more light to their urban city. Their goal is to raise funds to light up 700 meters of Manwabisi Park, which will ultimately reduce the crime rate in the area through more light. In order to get the community involved in the project, they have combined street art with community engagement.

Taxi is a car with a digital advertising sign attached to the roof. Linked to a global positioning system, the message changes relative to the car's location, addressing specific neighbourhoods, addresses, and audiences. The technology can target an area as small as a square block. Haha solicits messages through email list serves and through direct contact with various groups throughout the city.

Whose Utopia? is a color film which is 19 minutes 58 seconds long. It was originally commissioned by the Siemens Arts Program back in 2005. The projector-style video is based on the work and social lives of assembly line workers at OSRAM’s light bulb factory in the Pearl River Delta in China. This area has received huge numbers of immigrants from inland provinces seeking work and better lives in the wake of Beijing’s booming economy.

Global Citizen arranged a virtual concert to celebrate all those who are working during the COVID-19 epidemic, from the healthcare workers to essential workers. The lineup included Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Hudson, and over 30 more artists. The concert took place live on Youtube and ran for around 6 hours.
