Just Fashion: Critical Cases on Social Justice and Fashion 3 Favorite
Over the course of a semester, fashion hactivist and fashion social justice scholar, Otto Von Busch, facilitated a course on "Critical Fashion and Social Justice," where graduate fashion students at Parsons design school researched, contextualized and at times critiqued case studies on various examples of "fashion social justice." Case studies included traditional fair trade companies and non profit organizations that have used fashion as a self esteem and job creation tool, to activists that have reappropriated fashion vocabulary to propel their activist work. The case studies have been summarized on a blog and then republished as a book on November 23, 2012 by Professor Von Busch's self publishing company with all students in the course co-listed as authors.
