The day-glow orange and yellow stickers warn "Caution: This is war propaganda. You're the target". The ads were paid for by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, led by notorious anti-Muslim crusader Pamela Geller, reportedly costing $70,000.

The ads began appearing in multiple subway stations in Manhattan the week of January 8th. Within days the ads were defaced with the "Caution" stickers, which have since been removed, though the ads remain.
