A new media activism program at Duke University was started this year with the aim of helping young womeen excel in blogging about gender issues.
The feminist-oriented program is called Write(H)ers and was created by Duke senior, Samantha Lachman and Women's Center Director Ada Gregory. The 23 women involved in the program will meet professional journalists at workshops centered around blogging and gender issues on campus and abroad.
The New Culture Movement was initiated by Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, Lu Xun, Hu Shi, Cai Yuanpei, Qian Xuan and other writers who had received Western education (called the new-style education at the time). It is an ideological and cultural innovation and literary revolutionary movement.

In response to a memo from Afghanistan's education ministry, Ahmad Sarmast, the founder of Afghanistan's Institute of Music, began a Twitter campaign with the hashtag #IAmMySong. In response to the hashtag, Afghan girls have taken to Twitter with videos of themselves singing tagged with Sarmast's hashtag and spreading petitions against the ban. The ministry memo banned girls 12 years old and older from singing at school functions.

Mukti Caravan, the Campaign on Wheels, is a mobile cultural group of former child bonded labourers. Started by the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save Childhood Movement), a movement started by now Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, it involves activists visiting villages to create awareness about need for education, emphasizing on the need for improving access to education and quality of education, to completely eradicate child labour from the society.
This project was made by the foundation Obra Social la Caixa with the intention to change the conversation and strategies while working with youngsters. Before this initiative, say the Director Claudio Zulian, the foundation would speak only about the lives of these girls and boys. However, they decided to involve them inside other stories as actors of a film project.
